Hi loves, I'm Jessica

I don't often share my thoughts and opinions on social media because short form media isn't the best place to make a valid, fully thought through point. A quote, a 30 second video, and clickbait are great for views, but not great to understand the full complexity of a thought, argument, debate, or opinion. My outlet has always been and will always be writing. I spent my years in school winning writing contests and am always writing a new chapter to a book I'll likely never publish. I've learned to adapt and take an aesthetic photo and try to confine my thoughts into a 30 second clip, but with the backlash I get on which milk is best to feed my child from an angry middle aged women with bible verses in their bios, I always stayed away from talking about hot topics due to the fear of being misunderstood.

Part of this, I'm sure, is due to the Paris Hilton effect, where people question how much an artificial blonde who fills her sentences with "likes" and barely clears 5'1" can actually know about the world. But when writing you can skip all of that bias and look directly into my brain. It seems ironoc that people with the loudest voices tend to be the ones who are overpaid and under read, which is why I decided to start shaing my voice as well. I am neither overpaid or under read.

So please, come for the mom hacks, outfit links, beauty recs, but stay for the little snippets from inside my brain.
