I’ve never been a full-on makeup guru, but I could always give a bridesmaid the perfect smoky eye and keep that red lip locked in place through a whole night of sipping wine. Lately, though, I’ve noticed that wearing a full face of makeup is starting to do the opposite of what I want—it’s aging me instead of bringing out that fresh, bright vibe. So, I decided to overhaul my routine, especially since my skin’s been on point lately, all glowy and healthy. I wanted something that highlights my skin, not hides it, but still gives me a little extra on those days I need it. Here’s what I’m loving:
Tinted SPF
Most days, this is my ride or die. I’m all about keeping things simple, and this tinted SPF from The Skinny Confidential is my jam. It’s got caffeine to help with those early-morning puffy eyes and just enough tint to even things out. Plus, the glow it gives? Pure magic. No need for a ton of layers when your skin looks this good on its own.
Skin Tint
Foundations are a no-go for me these days—too thick, too heavy, too much. But when I want a little something more than just my tinted SPF, I reach for the Chanel Water Tint. It’s like a second skin, light and dewy. I like to apply it with my hands for that natural, blended finish, but if I’m in the mood for more coverage, I’ll grab a brush.
Bronzer
Self-tanner is usually how I get my bronze on, but during those long winter months (or when I want to turn up the summer glow), I add a little Chanel Les Beiges Bronzer. It’s creamy, it’s luxe, and the container is massive—it’s going to last me forever. I use it sparingly, just enough to warm things up.
Cheeks and Lips
Matching your cheeks and lips? That’s the secret sauce. It pulls everything together without trying too hard. I’m obsessed with Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk and Clinique’s Black Honey. One’s light, the other’s a bit darker—perfect for whatever mood I’m in.
Eyes
I’m keeping it super simple with my eyes. I’ve got a Chanel palette with four shades, and that’s all I need. Most days, I just sweep a little bronzer across my lids for a hint of color. I’m not into heavy shadow right now—it feels too much. And mascara? Pass. It irritates my eyes, and with my lash serum and regular lash lifts, I don’t even need it.
Brows
Speaking of brows, I tint mine, so there’s no need for a brow pencil. I stick to castor oil during the day to brush them out and keep them in place. Brow gels feel too crunchy, and I’m all about that natural, soft look. The oil gives just enough hold without that overdone vibe.
This routine just works for me. It’s minimal, it’s easy, and it feels luxe without being over the top. Plus, it keeps the clutter down—I’m all about having just what I need and nothing more. And when I’m on the go, it all fits into a little bag, making those car makeup moments a breeze.
