Glowing Skin Post-Baby

Glowing Skin Post-Baby

Finding a skincare routine that works postpartum can be a challenge. With my second baby, I needed something quick and effective. Here's the flawless routine that's been saving my skin—and my sanity!

Morning Routine

1. Hypochlorous Acid Spray: Every morning, I give my face a quick spritz of hypochlorous acid. It's like a magic potion for zapping bacteria and acne. Fun fact: I use this on my kids for cuts and scrapes too—talk about multi-purpose!

2. Ice Roller: Next, I ice roll to tighten and brighten my skin. This is my secret weapon against those sleepless nights that come with a baby and a toddler who never sleep.

3. Vitamin C Serum: I swear by a Vitamin C serum. It's been a game-changer for my dark spots and sun damage. Plus, pairing it with sunscreen makes both more effective.

4. Caffeinated SPF Serum: Since it’s summer, I skip the heavy moisturizer and go for a caffeinated SPF serum. It's hydrating, gives a lovely glow, and has a tint, so I can skip foundation.

5. SPF Spray: I carry an SPF spray for reapplying throughout the day. One in my car, one in my purse—I'm never without it.

Night Routine

1. Double Cleansing: Double cleansing with an oil cleanser has revolutionized my skincare. The Oliveda oil cleanser clears my pores better than any exfoliator and leaves my skin hydrated instead of dry and stripped.

2. Gel Cleanser: I follow up with the Oliveda gel cleanser for that deep-clean feeling. Double cleansing is a must—think of it as sweeping before mopping.

3. Serums: I alternate between a botox alternative serum and a green retinol a few nights a week. The green retinol is gentle enough for pregnancy and breastfeeding which is what sold me on it. I'm not hiding from the sun in fear of wrinkles or sun exposure anymore.

4. Moisturizer and Castor Oil: I mix a thick moisturizer with castor oil for extra hydration. Castor oil works wonders for undereye bags and dark spots and this moisturizer is the most affordable you'll find but does the job better than the most expensive brands.

5. Castor Oil Brow and Lash Serum: This serum has transformed my brows and lashes. Trust me, it works.

Shower Routine

1. Exfoliate: I start with a Dove scrub to prep my skin and get all the old spray tan/dead skin off. This one smells amazing and isn't too harsh.

2. Double Cleanse: Double cleansing in the shower is my trick for feeling ultra-clean, just like with my face and hair. I use Dove bar soap in the same scent followed by a super hydrating gel cleanser.

3. Hair Mask: While washing my body, I let a hair mask sit. I switch shampoos and conditioners but love a thickening line for postpartum hair fallout that I'm going through right now. When I'm not dealing with the fallout, I like the Oliveda standard line

4. Post-Shower Moisture Lock: Still dripping wet, I apply a coconut body oil to lock in moisture and scent. I've tried a million oils and this one is the absolute chef's kiss at sealing in moisture, it lasts for days.

5. Lotion: I follow up with a classic lotion that leaves me smelling like coconuts and flowers literally all day without that gross sticky feeling. If it's an extra hot summer day or if I'm showering in the morning instead of at night, I'll skip the lotion and let the oil do the work.
